Trump Administration: Baseless or Evidence of Massive Voting Fraud?
Media Claims vs The Trump Administration

For the past few weeks, President Trump and members of his administration are alleging that massive voter fraud took place across the country. Democratic and Republican commentators also speculate that the 2020 election was rigged. Does the Trump administration have a case? Is there evidence of massive voting fraud?

New York Times wrote in a recent article: “The president and his allies have baselessly claimed that rampant voter fraud stole victory from him. Officials contacted by The Times said that there were no irregularities that affected the outcome.” The term ‘baseless’ is spreading across most major platforms, repeated by USA Today and CNN. The New York Times claimed that they spoke to election officials across the country to form their conclusion. Still, even in the statement the officials aren’t denying errors in the voting process. Errors and small amounts of fraud cases have occurred in most elections. What they’re denying is evidence of massive fraud, so extensive that the election win was stolen.

Glitches in Voting Software

Dominion Voting Software was used by the states in question to tally votes. According to Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, a whistle-blower has come forward claiming the software was compromised – switching votes to Biden. “We’ve identified mathematically the exact algorithm they’ve used—and planned to use from the beginning. They can stick a thumb drive in the [voting] machine, they can upload software to it even from the Internet … from Germany or Venezuela even,” she said, adding that operations “can watch votes in real-time” and “can shift votes in real-time.”

Dominion Voting Systems denies any claims about vote switching or alleged software issues. The software would have to be investigated by computer forensic or hired hackers in order to determine program vulnerabilities.

Evidence in Michigan

Trump’s legal advisor Jenna Ellis made this statement on Fox News: “We have 234 pages of sworn affidavits. There’s a letter from 40 Michigan state legislators that were filed yesterday to the Secretary of State. They allege dozens of allegations about system irregularities, outright fraud, voter intimidation, all of these tactics just in the state of Michigan.”

In Wayne County, Michigan, it’s alleged that 71% of their precincts’ ballot counts don’t match the total number of voters. This was reviewed by two members of the Wayne County board of Canvassers.

With the different allegations of fraud per state, the various outcomes have proven that there is some evidence of voting fraud. The Trump administration has been private about witness names and testimony, to spare them of public scrutiny and threats. The investigation is too broad to label the allegation by Trump’s camp as ‘baseless’ this soon. There are many red flags that would support a major miscalculation of votes. Once the full evidence on both sides is revealed in a court of law, we can then determine what’s true or false.
