The LAPD has confirmed that an investigation has been opened regarding the sexual assault allegations made against T.I. and Tiny. According to Deadline, the investigation started a month ago after two women filed police reports. Both women, filing in different states, claim that they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the couple. Most of the accusers are anonymous with the exception of Rachelle Jenks who filed a report with LVPD. All accusers are being represented by the same attorney, Tyrone Blackburn. T.I. and Tiny have denied all allegations through their lawyer, and their friends have also spoken out in their defense.
T.I. Speaks Out In New Song
T.I. has been vocal about denying the allegations on Instagram and in a new song. On the song ‘What It’s Come To,’ the rapper speaks about extortion and says “Go put your face and reputation on it. These kinds of claims deserve more than anonymous provocative conversation, don’t it?” he goes on further to say that he’s “up against some lying b*tch*s.” In an Instagram post, Harris stated: “Whatever we have done has been done with consensual adults. We ain’t never forced nobody. We ain’t never drugged nobody against their will. We ain’t never held nobody against their will.”
Attorney Says ‘Nothing More Than A Sordid Shakedown’
Steve Sadow, T.I. and Tiny’s attorney, stated: “The Harrises have not spoken to or been contacted by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD).” Speaking on the launch of the LAPD investigation Sadow stated: “It appears the LAPD accuser has chosen once again to remain anonymous, thereby preventing us from being in a position to disprove or refute her allegations — or even examine them.”
“These allegations are nothing more than the continuation of a sordid shakedown campaign that began on social media.” Sadow told New York Times
Friends Speak Out Against T.I and Tiny Allegations
Kandi Burruss, another member of the R&B Xscape, told Madamenoir: “What I want to say is people put out any rumor about somebody right now. This society has become a ‘you’re guilty until proven innocent instead of ‘you’re innocent until proven guilty.’ And I do not like that.”
Rickey Smiley, a friend of the couple, also stated his opinion on his morning show: “I think that T.I. and Tiny party…and you see how people are, everybody’s cool until somebody gets mad. When somebody gets mad and all yall having sex together, drinking, smoking, kicking it or whatever, then they’ll come with allegations.” Smiley expressed that he felt this encourages others who feel entitled or have a vendetta to come forward with allegations. “I have seen it too many times in the industry.”
