Jesse Jackson's Statements to The Philadelphia Tribune

The appeals court heard oral arguments from Cosby’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, and from two prosecutors from the office of District Attorney Kevin Steele. Four major components of evidence and testimony were intensively questioned by the judges to determine the evidence used by prosecutors to convict. Many high profile celebs are speaking out on social media to show Bill Cosby support. One working diligently to see Cosby released from prison is Jesse Jackson.

Cosby’s representative Andrew Wyatt issued a statement to USA TODAY on behalf of the comedian and his wife Camille Cosby, thanking Jesse Jackson for his courageousness and his support. “Mr. & Mrs. Cosby are forever grateful to Reverend Jackson and his family because he has been working feverishly to get the State of PA to release Mr. Cosby, since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, back in April.”

Jesse Jackson recently spoke with The Philadelphia Tribune and called for Bill Cosby’s prison release. “He’s 84 and blind. Who’s he going to hurt? He should be home and free and away from all of those germs. The government needs to do something, He shouldn’t still be in prison.”

Jackson further commented on the many donations Cosby and his wife Camille have given to HBCUs and other organizations over the years. “He’s helped so many, many people, I’m coming forward to speak out because I believe in justice too.”
